The previous, third generation model entered the market in 2009. But the first Prius appeared in 1997. However, the oldest Prius of the first generation was sold only in Japan.
Now, Prius remains one of the world’s most famous petrol-electric hybrids. Previously, many environmentalists have criticized Toyota because this model was polluting: processing components of the vehicle, including the batteries, leaves the so-called ecological footprint. For solving the problem with waste and especially used batteries that are hazardous for the environment as well as 2014 Toyota Corolla headlights, Toyota and another Japanese auto giant, Honda group, has taken on increased obligations on recycling. Toyota receives from customers used batteries and even pays money for the delivery of batteries.
